Verdi's Dies Irae, Dvorak's New World Symphony (last mvt), Sullivan's Pineapple Poll, Suppe's Light Cavalry Overture, Saint Saens' Samson and Delilah. Imagine a concert with all these great pieces. Throw in some marches, a few folk tunes, features and some patriotic sections and you have the makings of our Sousa Concert.
Last week I took time to introduce the idea behind our March concert. A concert in the Sousa style includes a variety of some of the greatest music available in the early 1900's. All presented in a fast paced concert sure to appeal to all. I look forward to presenting this exciting experience to our audience with you.
In the meantime I am excited for our Childhood Christmas concert on Dec 13. Be sure to get the word out to your friends and family. We will not be rehearsing this Tuesday with the big election upon us. As always, keep practicing and listening to our charts:
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Holiday on Ice
A Childhood Hymn
We will need a solid piano player for the Children's March. If you are interested, or if you know someone who could help us out, let me know.
See you all on Tuesday, Nov 15 promptly at 7:00!
